I have learned that what I have not drawn I have never really seen, and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realize how extraordinary it is, sheer miracle. -Frederick Franck
I am a self-taught artist located near Lodi, Wisconsin. I have been drawing since childhood. I come from an artistic family. Drawing and painting was always encouraged. I was never able to spend much time creating art because of work and raising a family. Now that I am retired, I have devoted much time to painting and drawing. Most of my work consists of animals and landscapes. I was always fascinated with the natural world. I loved to explore the outdoors and spent much time at my grandparent’s dairy farm. These interests led me to getting a degree in biology and agriculture. Details always mattered to me and this is reflected in my artwork. I want to depict my subjects as they really are. There is nothing more beautiful than that.
All of my artwork is hand made with high quality materials. Nothing is created digitally. Most of my paintings are done with oils or acrylics. I use pastels occasionally. Drawings are done in graphite, charcoal, and colored pencil. I am currently open to local commissions. Please contact me for details. Look through my work and enjoy!
I was pleased to do a saw blade painting of a beautiful small farm not far from where I live. It took about two months to complete.
